Balkan Ecology Project- Other features on the Wildlife Farm

In addition to the main growing areas i.e. the annual polyculture bed, the conventional organic, the beneficial border and the Edible Horse Shoe Bed, other features of the wildlife farm include ponds of various sizes, fruit and other trees and also farm animals. Plot 1 has chickens, a pig and rabbits (and of course, humans- the Ecosystem directors)

Main pond at Plot 1. The pond frogs are useful predators of slugs and other pests and the aquatic vegetation is used for mulch. The addition of an aquatic environment increases biodiversity significantly.
Small pond (tyre ponds) are located around Plot 1 to provide additional aquatic habitat
 Broad-bodied Chaser
Feeding the pest shieldbugs to the frogs
Cherries, Walnut, Pear, Peach, Apple, Quince and Plums are present on Plot 1
